Colorado Highway 9 Safety Project
Public Meeting on State Hwy 9 Safety Project
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) hosted a public meeting on Thursday, April 19 regarding the State Highway (SH) 9 safety improvement project. A short, informal open house was followed by a formal presentation by CDOT and a question and answer session with CDOT, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Grand County, and Blue Valley Ranch.
For a summary of the meeting and what was covered, the Summit Daily News provides a good synopsis (you can also download a PDF of the article below). For a review of how the Hwy 9 Safety Project was initiated, including the donation from Blue Valley Ranch for the project design, another article in the Ski-Hi News from March of last year provides a good summary (also available in the download bar below). Finally, for the most current information about the CO State Highway 9 Safety Project, please visit the project page on CDOT’s website (http://www.coloradodot.info/projects/sh9grandcounty). There, you can find a copy of the presentation that was given at the meeting and contact info, as well as examples of the wildlife structures that are under consideration for the project.
